This new version of CRISIS gives a friendly environment to calculate seismic hazard
CRISIS computes seismic hazard using a probabilistic model that considers the rates of occurrence, attenuation characteristics and geographical distribution of earthquakes. Some of the main features of CRISIS are
Earthquake occurrence can be modeled either as a Poissonian process or as a Characteristic Earthquake process
Sources can be modeled as areas, lines or points
CRISIS operates with a dynamic integration procedure which allows fast computation of hazard in extended areas
Attenuation models furnished by the user or built-in in CRISIS give great flexibility to the computations
A friendly graphical interface facilitates data input
CRISIS was developed at Instituto de Ingeniería, UNAM, Mexico
